Indian Express talks about the Delhi Murder case

Indian Express reports about the Delhi murder case of Shraddha Walker. The incident came to light six months after the murder and the accused Aaftab Poonawala, who was her live-in-partner, was arrested. After this, he told the police that he chopped Shraddha’s body into 30-35 pieces and dumped them in the forest area nearby. The report says that Aaftab spent about two to three months dumping the pieces of her body. The Hindu: Humanity hits the eight billion mark

 

A baby born somewhere on November 15 will be the world’s eighth billionth person, as per the projection by the United Nations (UN), reports The Hindu. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said that “The milestone is an occasion to celebrate diversity and advancements while considering humanity's shared responsibility for the planet”. The report also says that the UN attributes the growth to human development, with people living longer thanks to improvements in public health, nutrition, personal hygiene and medicine. G20 considers resolution condemning Russian invasion, Reuters 

Reuters reports that the leaders of the Group of 20 (G20) nations were considering a draft resolution in which most members strongly condemn the war in Ukraine and stress is intensifying fragilities in the global economy. The summit is the first G20 meeting, since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The report also adds that Russia has described the war as a special military operation, which is overshadowing the meeting despite calls from Indonesia for unity and to focus on resolving global economic problems. Gujarat HC slams Morbi Civic body for not showing up for bridge collapse hearing, Wire

The Gujarat High Court slammed the Morbi civic body for “acting smart” after the authorities failed to attend the hearing despite being served with a notice in the bridge collapse case. The report also says that the bench comprising Chief Justice Aravind Kumar and Justice Ashutosh J. Shastri asked who was responsible for certifying that the bridge was fit for usage. Arab News: US sinks boat carrying ‘explosive materials’ from Iran to Yemen

 

The US Navy’s Fifth Fleet said that it had intercepted a fishing vessel smuggling massive amounts of explosive materials while transiting from Iran to Yemen, reports Arab News. The report adds that the US forces found over 70 tons of ammonium perchlorate, which is commonly used to make rocket and missile fuel as well as explosives. Read the full report on Arab News.
