Reliance Jio IPO by first half of 2026, Hindustan Times

Telecom and digital giant Reliance Jio platforms will file for an Initial Public Offering (IPO) in the first half of 2026, Hindustan Times reports as per Reliance Industries chairman and managing director Mukesh Ambani. “Today, it is my proud privilege to announce that Jio is making all arrangements to file for its IPO,” Ambani said at the 48th Annual General Meeting of Reliance Industries Ltd. Ambani also announced that Jio will now expand its operations overseas and develop its own artificial intelligence technology, the report adds. Read the full report here.

 

Over 250 flights hit as rain pounds Delhi-NCR, big jams as roads waterlogged: India Today

 

Rain lashed several parts of Delhi and the surrounding National Capital Region (NCR) on Friday morning, India Today reports, causing widespread waterlogging and traffic snarls in several areas. Flight operations were also hit at the Delhi airport, with as many as 209 departures and 43 arrivals witnessing delays till 2 pm, as per Flightradar24 website. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued yellow and orange alerts for several parts of Delhi on Friday, warning of moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning. Meanwhile, the report says that a red alert was issued for Noida and Ghaziabad, predicting extremely to very heavy rainfall in these regions. Heavy showers in the national capital also led to widespread waterlogging and traffic jams at key locations, including Pragati Maidan, Defence Colony and Preet Vihar. Read the full report here.

 

Kyiv in mourning after strikes as allies discuss military support, BBC reports

A day of mourning has been declared in Kyiv after the second biggest aerial attack of the war so far killed at least 23 people, including four children, BBC reports. The city's mayor, Vitali Klitschko, said it was to honour the dead, as a massive recovery effort continues at the five-storey block of flats where 22 of the 23 were killed, the report says. The attack has been widely condemned - the White House said President Donald Trump was "not happy" but not surprised, while European Union Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said Russia would "stop at nothing to terrorise Ukraine". NDTV: Pawan Kalyan visits Andhra's Rushikonda Hill, inspects controversial structures

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Janasena Party chief Pawan Kalyan today inspected the controversial structures on Rushikonda Hill, a site that has been at the centre of a major political and environmental debate, NDTV reports. Accompanied by ministers and party leaders, Mr Kalyan took a tour of the opulent buildings, which were constructed during the previous YSRCP government's tenure. The project, officially designated as a tourism resort, has been a point of contention for years, with the TDP-Janasena alliance alleging that it was built as a private residence for former Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy at a staggering cost of over Rs 500 crore. Thai court removes suspended PM Paetongtarn from office: The Straits Times

 

The Straits Times reports that a Thai court has permanently disqualified Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra from office over ethical misconduct in her handling of a border clash with Cambodia, in a major blow to her coalition government and the fortunes of the country’s most prominent political dynasty. Paetongtarn had been provisionally suspended since July 1 as the nine-judge court considered its decision in the case that stemmed from the recent border clashes between Thailand and Cambodia and a controversial leaked phone conversation between Ms Paetongtarn and de facto Cambodian leader Hun Sen on June 15.
