Mehli Mistry voted out from Tata Trusts, Indian Express
Mehli Mistry, a close confidant of Ratan Tata, is on his way out of Tata Trusts after a majority of trustees voted against his reappointment to the boards of the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust and the Sir Ratan Tata Trust, Indian Express reports. With three of the six trustees opposing his renomination through a circular resolution circulated last week, Mistry is set to step down from the governing boards of the Tata Trusts. The report says that the three trustees who opposed his reappointment were Tata Trusts Chairman Noel Tata, Venu Srinivasan, chairman of the TVS Group and former Defence Secretary Vijay Singh. India Meteorological Department has predicted that Cyclone 'Montha' is likely to hit the coastal shores of Andhra Pradesh by tonight. Hindustan Times reports that heavy rainfall has lashed parts of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Odisha disrupting air and rail traffic. Twenty five teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have been deployed in Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Chhattisgarh and Puducherry. Cyclone Montha intensified into a ‘severe cyclonic storm’ on Tuesday morning, the report adds. Read the full report here.
China, ASEAN sign enhanced free trade pact amid Trump tariffs: Al Jazeera
China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) have upgraded their free trade agreement as trade between the two regions continues to rise in the shadow of United States President Donald Trump’s trade war. Al Jazeera reports that the trade pact was signed on the sidelines of the 47th ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday, in a ceremony witnessed by Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. The report mentions that the 11-member ASEAN and China have become each other’s largest trade partners in recent years. Read the full report here.
NDTV reports, bus metres away from Air India plane at Delhi Airport's T3 catches fire
A bus, which was parked metres away from an Air India aircraft, caught fire at Delhi Airport's Terminal 3 this afternoon, NDTV reports. The bus, operated by SATS Airport Services Private Limited, a third-party provider that handles ground services for multiple airlines, was vacant when it caught fire near bay 32. The Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL), which handles the operations at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), called it a "stray incident" and said that there were no injuries, the report adds. Jamaica braces for world's strongest storm of 2025, BBC reports

Three people have already died in Jamaica as it braces for the world's strongest storm this year - and possibly the strongest on record for the island, BBC reports. The US meteorologists have warned of "catastrophic and life-threatening" conditions. With wind speeds of up to 282km/h, Hurricane Melissa is a category five storm - the maximum strength. It is intensifying and expected to make landfall on the Caribbean island early on Tuesday. The report adds that it has been blamed for four deaths in Haiti and the Dominican Republic, in addition to the lives lost in Jamaica. Read the full report here.
