Massive dust storm hits Gurugram, Delhi, Noida: Hindustan Times

A dust storm swept through Haryana's Gurugram and then proceeded to hit parts of Delhi as well a Uttar Pradesh's Noida on Tuesday, Hindustan Times reports, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue a red alert for Delhi-NCR, forecasting rain and strong winds across the region. Videos shared on social media showed massive dust storms sweeping through several parts of Gurugram, with strong winds and low visibility affecting normal life in the city. SIT submits preliminary report to UP govt in Ayodhya Ram temple donation case, The Hindu

 

The Hindu reports that Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the alleged irregularities in donations at the Ayodhya Ram Temple submitted its preliminary report on Tuesday to the Uttar Pradesh government. The team visited the office of Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Sanjay Prasad and handed over the report. US suspends Iran oil sanctions, says nuclear inspectors to return: The Straits Times

The United States suspended sanctions on Iranian oil on June 22 after Vice-President JD Vance said Iran would allow UN nuclear inspectors to return to the country, The Straits Times reports. “We laid a very good foundation for a successful final deal,” Vance told reporters following talks at Switzerland’s luxury Burgenstock resort aimed at ending the US-Israeli war with Iran. The report adds Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei said for his part that “a very brief discussion took place regarding the nuclear issue, but there was no discussion of details.” Read the full report here.

 

Google restores Telegram after temporary ban over NEET paper leak ends, NDTV reports

Google restored instant messaging app Telegram on Tuesday morning as a temporary ban imposed by the government ended in the midnight of June 22. NDTV reports that the platform was accessible to some existing users before Google restored it. The app continued to remain delisted on Apple's Appstore till around 10 am. France records hottest-ever night as 40 drown trying to escape heatwave, Al Jazeera

 

At least 40 ⁠people have drowned in recent days in France while swimming in unsupervised areas to seek relief from a heatwave gripping the country and other parts of Europe, Al Jazeera reports. Speaking after a crisis meeting as France recorded its hottest-ever night, Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu said on Tuesday the death toll since June 18 included mainly young people. Separately, local authorities said the heatwave was the most likely reason for the deaths of two children aged two and four who were found unconscious in a car outside their home in Carpentras in southeastern France, the report adds.
