Reuters reports about the energy crisis triggering global hunt for polluting fuel

Tanzania, an East African country, is expecting its thermal coal exports to double this year, reports Reuters. The European buyers are prepared to pay a high price as per the miners. Along with this Europe has been crippled by an energy crisis which has challenged the situation in Tanzania. Indian Express report: Bombay HC orders demolition of illegal portions at Narayan Rane’s bungalow

 

Indian Express reported that the Bombay High Court (HC) has dismissed a plea of a company that is owned by Union Minister and the Bhartiya Janata Party leader Narayan Rane against the demolition of illegal portions of his bungalow. The plea was seeking direction from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Council (BMC) to consider and decide its second application for regulation of alleged unauthorised structures at his eight-storey bungalow in Juhu. A division bench of Justice Ramesh D Dhanuka and Justice Kamal R Khata has directed BMC to demolish the unauthorised portion within two weeks. Read the full report on IE.

 

The Print talks about why Jaishankar’s US visit was more than a formality

According to ThePrint’s report after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement to Russian President Vladimir Putin for choosing war over peace, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar is reported to travel to the United States (US). During his trip to the US, he is scheduled to meet his American counterpart Antony Blinken and the US Secretary of Defence Llyod Austin. As per the report, he will also participate in meetings of the Quad, BRICS and the UN. J&K LG Manoj Sinha inaugurates Srinagar’s first multiplex

A first in three decades, Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated a multiplex in Srinagar. Sinha said during the inauguration that the Cinemas would open in every district. According to the report, the Inox Multiplex took five years to complete and has a total seating capacity of 520. Two dead as Hurricane Fiona devastates Puerto Rico, reports BBC

 

At least two people have died after the Fiona Hurricane hit Puerto Rico. The hurricane has caused flooding and landslides and took out the Island's entire electricity supply, reports BBC.
