Moneycontrol reported that the Rupee is to hit 80 against the US dollar for the first time

Moneycontrol in this report has shared that the Indian Rupee on Tuesday hit 80 for the first time against the US dollar after the crude oil surged on concerns about tighter supplies globally. The rupee has diminished for the eighth time this season, says the report. As of Tuesday 9:10 am, the rupee was trading at 80.01 dollars, down 0.03 percent from its previous close. Rishi Sunak to top the new UK Prime Minister vote, The Hindu

 

The Hindu in today’s report says that the Former Chancellor Rishi Sunak topped the latest round of voting among the Conservative Party members of Parliament. The list to replace Boris Johnson as the Prime Minister (PM) has been now narrowed down to four contestants. According to the report, Tome Tugendhat received the lowest votes and is now out of the race. The report has mentioned that Rishi Sunak received 115 votes in the third round of voting, followed by Trade Minister Penny Mordaunt holding on to the second spot with 82 votes, which is followed by Foreign Secretary Liz Truss with 71 votes and former equalities minister Kemi Badenoch at 58 votes. Pune records coolest July since 2012, The Hindustan Times

Hindustan Times reported that Pune, despite constant rainfall throughout most days in July, has recorded day temperature at 30 degrees Celsius making it the coolest maximum temperature recorded since 2012. 12 Sena MPs write to Lok Sabha Speaker, naming leader and chief whip: LS Secretariat, Indian Express

The Indian Express reports today that 12 of the 19 Shiv Sena Members of Parliament (MPs) in Lok Sabha have written to speaker Om Birla, requesting him to make Rahul Shewale their leader while retaining Bhavana Gawali as the chief whip, as per the sources in the Lok Sabha secretariat. Apart from this, another letter from the former chief minister Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena has reached the speaker's office removing Gawali from the post of chief whip and replacing him with Rachna Vichare. CNN reports about the extreme heat searing parts of Europe

 

Many parts of Western Europe have been consumed with extreme heat conditions, which has raged the wildfires raging in France and Spain, reports CNN. Along with this, Portugal has been experiencing worsening drought-like situations, followed by the UK reporting its third hottest day on Monday. According to the report, the fire has spread across 27,000 acres in the Gironde department of Southwest France, this fire has forced about 32,000 people to evacuate as mentioned by the local prefecture. Read the full report on CNN.
